Why NCDs

Better Than FDs. Safer Than Stocks.

NCDs combine the safety of debt with returns far exceeding traditional fixed deposits — all with full liquidity on exchanges.

Higher Fixed Returns

Earn 10–14% per annum — 2x to 3x more than bank FDs, with fixed coupon payouts quarterly or annually.

Capital Protection

Issued by SEBI-regulated companies with credit ratings. Choose AAA or AA-rated NCDs for maximum safety of principal.

Exchange Listed & Liquid

Listed on NSE/BSE — you can sell any time before maturity. No lock-in like FDs, with transparent market pricing.

Regular Coupon Income

Receive fixed interest payments quarterly, semi-annually, or annually directly in your bank account. Predictable cash flow.

Low Minimum Investment

Start with as little as ₹500,000. NCDs are accessible to retail investors and offer face-value denomination of ₹1,000.

SEBI & RBI Regulated

All NCD issuances are regulated, rated by credit agencies, and held in demat form — fully transparent and secure.

Important Notes

1

No entry or exit load; 10% TDS would be levied on gains while crediting interest payments.

2

Returns start accruing from the date of closure of issue and not money transfer date, implying a difference of approx. 1-2 days.

3

Principal repayments to be made at the end of maturity i.e. 12th month.

4

Principal repayments could be faster than above due to refinance or project performance. In such case, Investor IRR will remain the same however the Multiple and Profit Amount will be lower due to shorter tenure.

FAQ

Common Questions

What is an NCD and how is it different from a regular bond?

An NCD (Non-Convertible Debenture) is a corporate bond that cannot be converted into equity shares. It pays a fixed interest (coupon) and returns principal at maturity. Unlike regular bonds issued by the government, NCDs are issued by NBFC and corporate entities regulated by SEBI.

Are NCDs safe investments?

NCDs carry credit risk from the issuing company, but choosing AAA or AA-rated NCDs significantly reduces this risk. They are SEBI regulated, listed on exchanges, and issued with credit ratings. ArthOne helps you select only high-quality NCD issuances.

Can I exit before maturity?

Yes. Listed NCDs can be sold on NSE or BSE any time during market hours, just like stocks. The selling price depends on market demand and may be above or below face value.

How is NCD interest taxed?

Interest income from NCDs is taxable as per your income slab. If held for more than 12 months and sold on exchange, capital gains are subject to long-term capital gains tax. We recommend consulting your CA for specific tax planning.

How do I receive coupon payments?

Coupon interest is credited directly to your registered bank account on scheduled coupon dates — quarterly, semi-annually, or annually as per the NCD terms. No action is required from your side.
